ISLAMABAD: Managing Director Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) and senior officer Information Group Muhammad Khalid Sarwar passed away on Sunday morning.

He was also performing services as the Director General Information Services Academy.The funeral prayer (Namaz-e-jnaza) of the deceased would be offered after Magrib prayers on Monday, House No.17, Street 32, Sector-C, DHA-1.

Muhammad Khalid Sarwar was born in New Delhi on May 18, 1954 and joined Information Group on April 5, 1980.Muhammad Khalid Sarwar, 60, left two sons and a widow behind. He was to retire on May 18, 2014. He served on different positions during his tenure including press minister at Pakistan High Commission, New Delhi, from July 2011-March, 2012.

He also worked as speech writer/deputy secretary during 1993-1995.Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Ssenator Pervaiz Rashid has expressed his heartfelt condolence over the sad demise of Muhammad Khalid Sarwar.

In a condolence message on Sunday, the minister said services of the deceased would be remembered as he worked with honesty and dedication in all his service tenure and made valuable contribution through his work.

Meanwhile, Chairman Senate Syed Nayyer Hussain Bokhari Deputy Speaker Sabir Ali Baloch expressed their heartfelt condolences over the sad demise of Khalid Sarwar.Leader of the House in the Senate Raja Zafar-ul Haq and Leader of the Opposition in the Senate Aitzaz Ahsan have also expressed their heartfelt grief over the sad demise of Khalid Sarwar.They prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to the family to bear the irreparable loss with courage and fortitude.
