APNS Golden Jubilee celebrations from 29th
KARACHI:President General Pervez Musharraf will inaugurate the 50th Golden Jubilee celebrations of the APNS which will cornmence befittingly on December 29, 2003,at a dinner at Islamabad.
APNS President Arif Nizami has, thanked the President of Pakistan for his gracious consent. He also thanked Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, Minister for Information, and Syed Anwer Mahmood, Secretary, Information, for their cooperation in this regard.
Moharnmad Aslam Kazi, Secretary-General of the All Pakistan Newspapers Society, announced on wednesday that the APNS Anniversary Committee has chalked out a detailed program of events to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of the Society.
Celebrations will start with an Opening Session attended by publishers, editors and prominent media,persons as well, as the distinguished personalities from different walks of life i.e. judiciary diplomats, political leaders senior officials and intelligentsia.
The APNS has planned to publish a befitting brochure on the occasion where in the importance of print media and the contribution of APNS in shaping the social fabric of the society on democratic and civilized manners during the last 50 years shall be highlighted.
The brochure will also acknowledge the services of the APNS in promoting and protecting freedom of press and democrats norms.The Opening Session shall be followed by a series of events i.e. workshops, seminars, exhibitions etc in all the provinces of the county to mark the Golden Jubilee celebrations.
