APNS condoles Zamir’s death

KARACHI – All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS) President Arif Nizami and Secretary-General Aslam Kazi have expressed profound grief and sorrow over the death of renowned journalist and a leading press historian Zamir Niazi.

In a condolence message, they said Zamir’s commitment to the press freedom could be gauged by the fact that he wrote three books out of which two were written when he was bed ridden. He was updating his first book. Press in Chains just before he collapsed in coma. They stated that the newspaper industry had lost him at a time when the press freedom was under severe attack. The APNS president and the secretary-general prayed that Allah Almighty may rest his soul in eternal peace and give courage to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss.
