ANP woman activist seeks police protection

A women activist of Awami National Party (ANP) from district Peshawar has sought the police high officials’ protection against a person in neighbourhood, intimidating for holding party meeting at her residence. Speaking at press conference here at press club on Friday, Jamila Wisal, ANP president women wing from PK-3 and resident of Shami Road, Peshawar, complained that a person named Yaqoot Bangash by profession is a travel agent, has asked her to avoid arranging party corner meetings at her home and constantly intimidating for dire consequences.

Ms Wisal informed that Yaqoot had life attempt on her husband while taking back daughter from school on November last year. I also registered a FIR report in Machni Police station against him, but he constantly giving warning through text messages, she said. Jamila Wisal, who is also candidate of ANP on reserved seat, informed that Yaqoot had also attacked on her in front of her house, in which she was seriously injured. She accused that Yaqoot attempted kidnapping her son. She is facing serious threats from him after releasing on bail from jail.
