Ali Azmat enthrals students at Olympiad
ISLAMABAD: Famous pop singer Ali Azmat and others enthralled the participants of the BEC Olympiad-2010 at the concluding ceremony of the event at the Beaconhouse Educational Complex here late Sunday night.
The concert was held under the sponsorship of Urock that provided a platform for the Olympiad organisers to express their views regarding the event.
A large number of people came to enjoy the concert. The excited crowd was highly moved by the performances of Ali Azmat along with BEC student Usman Mahmood performing solo and some other teams.
About 84 teams from various colleges and schools of the twin cities participated in the three-day Olympiad.
The students demonstrated their talent and skills in 14 events including a model United Nations, filmmaking, photography, business plan, fashion designing, singing, live arts and gaming, said a press release issued by the organisers.
The purpose of the model UN competition was to raise awareness among the youth about the key issues like terrorism, environmental degradation and poverty that the world was facing today.
Besides, special attention was given to young entrepreneurs by including a business plan completion in the Olympiad which was appreciated by the audience. In photography contest, participants were able to highlight different aspects of life.
