Adjournment motion against torture of journalists
LAHORE- PPPP MPA Pervez Rafique has moved an adjournment motion against police torture on journalists outside the Punjab Assembly during its previous session.
The MPA has sought the House debate on torture due to which the newsmen, in protest, boycotted the House proceedings demanding action against the responsible police officials.
He said the press was fourth pillar of the State but it was unfortunate that the rulers had never ensured freedom of the press and tried to keep it in chains. He demanded of the government to tender apology for the police manhandling of the journalists and the opposition members.
