KARACHI: Our beloved country Pakistan, which came into being on the 27th of Ramazan, is passing through a critical phase. Our armed forces are fighting the existential threat of terrorism. On the auspicious eve of Ramazan, Express Media Group is all set to air one of the biggest and unique live Ramazan transmissions – Pakistan Ramazan – to be hosted by famed anchor Dr Aamir Liaquat Hussain.

After the unprecedented success of previous year’s Aman Ramazan transmission, Dr Aamir Liaquat has conceptualised a programme which will offer a blend of the traditional and the modern.

In this grand show, for which a still bigger and beautiful set has been designed, viewers will be offered a unique, edifying and elevating experience, befitting of the spirit of the holy month.

The Ramazan show will be attended by religious scholars, sana khwans and prominent personalities, who will have sehris and iftars with a huge audience. Dr Aamir Liaquat said he would conduct special prayers for the armed forces who are fighting militancy in North Waziristan Agency.

This special transmission will begin with recitation from the Holy Quran by Pakistan’s famous Qari, Ibrahim Kasi, who has especially travelled from Quetta. The verses from the Holy Book will be rendered in Urdu by Dr Aamir Liaquat. The show also includes the beautiful voices of Pakistan’s leading naat khwans.

A segment of the show – Aao Kahani Sunain – is dedicated to children. Dr Aamir Liaquat will narrate stories from Islamic history to the children. The show also features stories of the Prophets (SAW).

This Ramazan, Aamir Liaquat has tried to highlight and alleviate the miseries of the suppressed classes and people who have been subjected to brutalities or have lost their dear ones. These people will also be invited to the show and provided relief through Dr Aamir Liaquat’s NGO Mehmoda Sultana Foundation (MSF). Through the platform of Pakistan Ramazan, the MSF will also distribute free ration among the needy.

The programme also includes a painting competition Dilpasand Pakistan in which designers will compete to express their vision of an ideal Pakistan and win precious prizes including a car.

Another segment in the show is dedicated to prayers while the show also includes a cooking show Ishaiya, in which Dr Aamir Liaquat will present a new dish each day.

Viewers will also be able to find answers to their religious issues in Aalim on Air – an informative show in which Dr Aamir Liaquat will invite reputed religious scholars of different schools of thought.

This year, Dr Aamir Liaquat has also recorded a song, which is based on the spirit of Ramazan and patriotism. This year, religious scholars, including Mufti Muneebur Rehman, Mualana Wali Razi and Hafiz Ibtisam Elahi Zaheer, will also be a part of the show.

It is expected that this year’s transmission will be even more successful than last year’s. It must be noted that world’s most respected media house and agencies, including Google Trends, BBC, CNN and Fox News, had called the previous year’s Ramazan transmission one of the most watched transmissions.
