Mujeeb Tareen reporter of Aaj News television channel was attacked by three armed men at the night of 6th October in town of Pishin in Balochistan province.

According to Tareen he was working in his office when the accused Abdullah having metal clip and two others with knives entered and struck him several times with knives and metal clip. He was seriously injured in the attack and required 14 stitches in his chin, ear, neck and arms. He is now stable and has been discharged from the hospital.

Two attackers managed to flee on the arrival of neighbors but they caught Abdullah and handed him over to the police.

Talking to Pakistan Press Foundation, Mujeeb Ahmed, Bureau chief of Aaj News Quetta said Tareen was attacked for breaking the news story on Aaj News, three days earlier about police raid at a cars showroom that had been selling smuggled vehicles.

Police have registered the criminal complaint (FIR) of the incident.
