Services of Dr N.A. Baloch lauded at launch of his three books
HYDERABAD: Educationists, intellectuals and writers paid rich tribute to the prominent scholar late Dr N.A. Baloch and highlighted his services for Sindhi people and culture. They were speaking at the 5th Dr N.A. Baloch National Seminar held at a local hotel on Saturday where his three books were also posthumously launched. The books are; Sindhi Muslim Adabi Society Joon Ilmi Aen Adbi Khidmatoon, Tajpur Je Nawab Khandan Jo Tarikhi Kirdar, and Rasael Makhdoom Mohammad Moin.Former vice chancellor of the University of Sindh, Mazharul Haq Siddiqui, said that Sindhi youth had not the requisite wisdom and knowledge to pay homage to the great man.
He said that Dr Baloch took many steps to improve the university and rendered matchless services for culture and Sindh through his researches. The vacuum left by him could never be filled, he said, adding Dr Baloch was kind to each and everybody without regard to his or her social status.
Scholar Dr Abdul Ghaffar Soomro said that a couple of departments were working on the researches initiated by Dr Baloch who had done work par excellence on Shah Jo Risalo which would always be remembered. Hamida Baloch, daughter of Dr Baloch, shared some interesting moments of her father’s life and said that he was infatuated with clouds and birds and used to ask his children to wake him up if there were any clouds in the sky.
Dr Baloch Institute of Heritage and Research director Khalique Dino Noonari said the institute was striving its best to keep services of Dr Baloch alive. He termed him a great thinker and scholar of the world. Intellectuals Inayat Baloch, Shamsul Haque, Dr Mohammad Sharif Baloch son of Dr Baloch and others also spoke on the occasion.
