2 minor girls shifted to Darul Aman

Sukkur, July 07 2006: Two minor girls, Bashiran Solangi and Shakila Solangi, were shifted to Darul Amman on July 06, following the verdict of the jirga to give them in marriage to the elderly persons, to resolve a karo-kari dispute. Source said Deedar Solangi, resident of village Sono Solangi, in an application to DPO Khairpur, Jawed Ahmed Jiskani stated that six moths back his opponent Hidayatullah Solangi framed allegation of karo against his brother Jabbar Solangi with his daughter Afshan.

He said, later a jirga was held under the chairmanship of Ghulam Mustafa Solangi, who had ordered to give his daughter Bashiran, 10, and niece Shakila 9, in marriage to Hidayatullah, 50, and Mohammad Maroof Solangi, 60, respectively. He said he refused to accept the verdict and on this his opponents threats him of dire consequences. Later, on the orders of the DPO a FIR was registered at the Ahmedpur police station against 14 persons, including Ghulam Mustafa Solangi, Hidayatullah Solangi, Mohammad Maroof Solangi, Mohammad Ali, Bhooral, Ghulam Qadir, Rasool Bux, Khadim Hussain, Ghulam Akbar, Wazir Ali, Abdul Rehman, Nabi Dino, Ali Gul and Ali Gohar, out which the police arrested Rasool Bux, Mohammad Bhooral, Abdul Rehman, Nabi Dino, and Ghulam Qadir Solangi, while raids were under way to arrest the remaining accused.

On July 06 both the girls were produced in the court of judicial magistrate Kingri, where they said that they do not want to marry with the elderly persons, and their lives were under threat, therefore, they should be sent to Darul Amman. On this the court ordered the police to shift both the girls to Darul Amman Sukkur, after which the girls were shifted there.
