’18 district accounts offices to be computerised’

KARACHI: Accountant General Sindh Zulfiqar Ali Kadri has said eighteen district accounts offices of Sindh province will be computerised by March 30.

This he said at the inaugural ceremony of the computerised payroll and accounts at District Accounts Office Khairpur.

The new system of computerised accounting was introduced in 1994.by the Controller General of Accounts for whole country under the Project to Improve Financial Reporting and Auditing (PIFRA).

Kadri appreciated the efforts made by the team of the District Accounts Officer and lauded the cooperation of the District Government Sanghar in achieving this challenging objective. He said that the Accountant General Sindh Office and its sub-offices in all the districts are now changing its role in overall financial set-up of the country. They are now a vital part of the financial management of the country. He said that the new system would bring transparency, completeness, timeliness and accuracy in the accounting system.

Kadri said that economic growth in the country always leads to the good governance. The accounts generated through this new integrated SAP system helps the stakeholders make better financial decisions, which are the key to the economic growth. He further added that this system would enormously help the government employees regarding their financial claims.

Kadri stated that his dream is to pay pension and GP Fund at the very day of the retirement of government employee and this new system will make this dream come true. He said that it will not only bring a constructive change in the environment of the District Accounts Office but will also put a positive impact on the overall district administration.

He hoped that all the government departments will take the same initiative as well So far, there are 15 District Accounts Offices out of total 23, which are successfully running this system.

Zulfikar Ali Kadri had also inaugurated the same system at District Accounts Offices Jacobbabad and Shikarpur a day earlier.

Faisal Rind, EDO (Finance and Planning), on behalf for the District Government Khairpur, said that he was thankful to AG Sindh who selected Khairpur district for the implementation of world renowned state-of-the-art computer system, he assured District Accounts Office of his absolute cooperation and support in all times to come.

Finally he lauded the efforts for the teams of AG Sindh and PIFRA for such accomplishment.

The Executive District Officer (Revenue), Tameer Uddin Khero, Deputy Accountant General Sindh, Azees Ahmed Zai and District Accounts Officer, Altaf Hussain Mangi also spoke on the occasion.
