12 houses of militants demolished in Dir Lower
CHAKDARRA: Security forces demolished 12 houses of militants and arrested eight suspects in Dir Lower on Sunday. Colonel Arshad, area in-charge of the operation in Dir Lower, said that security forces cleared the area from Gulabad to Anbar of the militants and demolished their 12 houses. He said security forces also arrested eight suspects and recovered a large quantity of weapons from their possession.
In another action, security forces raided the house of militant commander Naik Ikhtiar in Tazagram area of Adinzai Tehsil and recovered hundreds of sacks of wheat and other goods of the World Food Programme (WFP).
The forces later handed over the wheat to the officials of department concerned and dynamited the house. The militants had recently seized the WFP wheat and other goods meant for the displaced people and stored it in the house. The house of another militant commander Junaid was also destroyed in the same area, the sources added.
