10-member women wing of ANP set up

KARACHI: ANP Sindh chapter on Monday set up its first ever women wing with a 10-member organising committee. Speaking at a press conference here at Bacha Khan Markaz, President Sindh ANP Shahi Syed announced the formation of party women wing, which will complete its organisation in various parts of Karachi.
The committee members include Jan Pari and Begum Jan in District West, Ameena Bibi and Bakht Khanam in District Centre, Sahrifeen Nasreen and Madeha Saif in District South, Kher-un-Nisa and Shazia Batool in District East and Nusrat Kundi and Gulshan Aziz in District Malir, he said.
He said that his party believes in gender equality and advocates for women rights because of its liberal political ideology. Giving tribute to Begum Naseem Wali Khan, he said that she could be named first in the index of women political strugglers who played a vital role in women empowerment. Syed pointed out that for lack of women wing, ANP had lost half of its total votes in the past elections and for avoiding such losses in future the wing has therefore been established. After the wing completes its organisation in all districts of Karachi, the central women leadership will be announced with the consent of Chief of ANP Asfandyar Wali Khan, he told reporters.
