10-Marla 1ots: 10O newsmen given allotment letter

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Ch Pervaiz Elahi in a ceremony held at Chief Minister House here on Tuesday handed over allotment letters to the first batch of 100 journalists, out of 923 journalists who had been allotted 10-Marla plots in Lahore Press Club Housing Scheme by the Punjab Government.

The Chief Minister on the occasion also announced to pay installments of three journalists Aziz Mazhar, Agha Ifthikar and Liaquat Querashi. These journalists had passed away recently.

Perviz Elahi told that a lake and a park were being built on the Press Club Housing Scheme. He also spoke about construction of F-Phase of the society, whom he said would also have access from Ring Road. The CM apprised the gathering that in a meeting held earlier the decision had been taken for construction of sewerage and other infrastructure in the Housing Scheme.

He said he also held meeting with journalists regarding Multan and Rawalpindi Press Club during the day and work was moving apace on construction of all the three housing schemes simultaneously. The Chief Minister on the occasion requested journalists not, to indulge in “depressed reporting”‘ and show optimism in improving the current Political scenario.
