‘Photo Festival’ to showcase aesthetic side of Pakistani culture

LAHORE: The Lahore Photojournalists Association, in collaboration with the Punjab Arts Council, is organising an exhibition titled “Photo Festival”, in which a unique selection of photographs of billboards will be displayed on the eve of Independence Day at Race Course Park.

As a unique initiative, thirty-seven photojournalists from national and international media organisations have come forward with an exclusive selection of their work reflecting an aesthetic side of Pakistani culture and to promote peace in the region.

This unique exhibition will showcase cultural and daily life of the homeland through pictures, portraits, landscapes, people and monuments. Cultural activities have been disturbed in Pakistan for the last many years due to various political and economic factors.

However, the recent wave of terrorism has affected the country’s socio-cultural activities the most. In this scenario, promotion of fine arts is the only ray of hope for creating a soft image of Pakistan in the world.
